River Song School is a non-profit providing a nurturing, individually tailored educational experience for children ages 3–9 years old. The joy of learning inspires each child's unique curiosity and creativity. Strong academic fundamentals are interwoven with art, music, movement and global curriculum to create a foundation for lifelong learning. The school environment and Montessori educational philosophy cultivate self-confidence, critical thinking and compassion, as each child follows her or his own path and becomes part of a greater community.
The following are basic elements of our school:
- Serves children ages 3-9 in mixed aged classrooms (3–6), (6–9).
- Features four beautiful, green classrooms each with views of the Deschutes River. All surfaces are new, non-toxic green materials. Montessori materials are new from Italy, meeting European environmental standards.
- Is open 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. with an after school program that runs until 5:30 p.m. Programming is year-round to support working families.
- Follows the Montessori educational philosophy and employs highly trained, experienced and compassionate teachers.
- Ensures individual attention with a low teacher to child ratio and small classrooms.
- Provides organic snacks each day, and an optional daily organic meal plan is in development.
- Accepts early learning financial subsidies and is creating an environment representative of the whole community.
